News From A Bird

J. Townsend and Nicholas A. DeBoer have launched Con/Crescent Press:

“Born on the cusp of the New Year, 2009, Con/Crescent Press is a merging of critical thinking and creative production. Its aim is to release high quality chapbooks from emerging poets, as well as a bi-annual journal focused on the art of critical response, philosophical treatise, political discourse, and discursively formed spaces for theoretical work.

Some points of reference include George Oppen, William Carlos Williams, Barbara Guest, Nathaniel Mackey, Walter Benjamin, Simone Weil, Denise Levertov, Jacques Derrida, Guy Debord and others whose work continues to blur the line between the poetic and the critical.”

Con/Crescent is currently accepting essay and essay-like submissions for the Spring Issue, Con/Crescent 1.
